Cover vs. Cover

First cover vs final cover: At the first attempt I made a cover with the three main characters on the front and the dark Ashford Castle in the background. But after having finished it, the publisher mentioned, that it looked too dark and also as if seen thousand times before (means: too boring). So we decided to do a total restart and try something completely different. And yepp, I also like the new cover very much better! But the old cover isn't bad enough not to be shown (and at least it also was a pile of work ;).

Im ersten Anlauf hab ich ein Cover mit den drei Hauptcharakteren im Vorder- und dem dunklen Ashford Castle im Hintergrund gestaltet. Aber nachdem es fertig war, meinten die Verleger, dass es zu düster und auch wie schon tausendmal gesehen (kurz: zu langweilig) aussähe. Also haben wir beschlossen nochmal auf Start zu gehen und was ganz anderes auszuprobieren. Und japp, mir gefällt das neue Cover auch wesentlich besser! Aber das alte ist immer noch nicht schlecht genug, um hier nicht gezeigt zu werden (und schließlich war es ja auch ein Haufen Arbeit ;)



And by the way, I posted a little work in progress of the first version in september last year...
